Live-Online Developing Leaders Programme

Live-Online Developing Leaders

This programme assists those progressing towards more senior leadership positions to develop their strategic thinking via an online format.

The Programme

This two-part programme offers an immersive live-online experience, mirroring the depth and challenge of our residential Developing Leaders Programme, while allowing leaders to participate remotely.

It creates a safe and confidential space for senior leaders whose roles have expanded across broader areas of their organisation, and who are navigating the shift from operational delivery towards days include regular reflect and refresh sessions, structured screen breaks and time to review learning, helping to maintain energy, focus and wellbeing throughout the experience.

It creates a safe and confidential space for senior leaders whose roles have expanded across broader areas of their organisation, and who are navigating the shift from operational delivery towards greater strategic responsibility. Participants explore real leadership challenges alongside peers at a similar level but from very different sectors.

Themes discussed might include:

  • the shift from operational to more strategic leadership
  • preparing for broader responsibility and the next stage of your leadership journey
  • the impact of decisions and how to prepare for increasingly complex and difficult choices
  • resilience, wellbeing and sustainability as a leader
  • nurturing and supporting those at levels below you
  • balancing uncertainty with the demands of a changing leadership landscape

Methodology

The programme is chaired by a senior leader, who guides the group through plenary discussions and hosts guest speaker sessions. Guest speakers share candid reflections and hard-won insights from their own leadership journeys across a wide range of sectors.

Alongside plenary sessions, participants work in smaller syndicate groups, led by experienced Windsor facilitators. These groups provide space to explore individual leadership challenges in greater depth, reflect on themes, and learn from others’ perspectives. Strong bonds often form within these groups, enabling more honest and meaningful conversations.

Participants also benefit from a one-to-one session with their facilitator before the programme begins and again before Part Two, helping to build trust, focus learning and support personal development across the programme.

Who is it suitable for?

This programme is designed for senior leaders who are taking on increased responsibility across their organisation and who want to better understand the demands, behaviours and characteristics required at this level of leadership.

We attract leaders from across public, corporate, education, faith, military, health and not-for-profit sectors. Exposure to such a wide range of perspectives enhances learning, challenges assumptions and encourages fresh ways of thinking.

Benefits of attending

  • greater clarity about their leadership role and responsibilities
  • strengthened resilience and renewed energy
  • deeper self-awareness and confidence in decision-making
  • insight into how they want to lead going forward

Participants also become part of Windsor Leadership’s alumni community of over 4,000 senior leaders, with ongoing access to our online portal and regular online and face-to-face alumni events that encourage continued connection and learning.

Exceeding Expectations in a Virtual Environment

TRACY MCINTYRE | DEPUTY DIRECTOR, CIVIL SERVICE

Due to personal circumstances, I chose to do this programme online and wondered if it would be as beneficial as in-person. It was fantastic - one of the best leadership programmes I've been on. The organisers ran the online version very well, and I built strong connections with the cohort and my syndicate.
