Live-Online Developing Leaders Programme

Live-Online Developing Leaders

This programme assists those progressing towards more senior leadership positions to develop their strategic thinking via an online format.

The Programme

Delivered live online via Zoom, this programme provides a rich and engaging environment where participants at a similar leadership level, from diverse sectors, come together to share insights, concerns and real-life challenges with the chair, facilitators and guest speakers. This approach replicates our in-person programmes and creates a collaborative learning environment.

The programme comprises a three-day Part One and a two-day Part Two up to four months later. Programme days include ‘reflect and refresh sessions’ to ensure ample screen and refreshment breaks, and opportunities to review input and prepare for the next sessions.

Participants have a one-to-one session with their facilitator before the programme starts and again before Part Two. These conversations ensure continuous support and help build trust throughout the online experience.

Who is it suitable for?

This programme is suitable for leaders who are already operating at a senior level and have the potential to continue their leadership journey to the most senior strategic positions.

About Live-Online

The programme is delivered ‘live’ via Zoom so participants can interact with each other, the chair, facilitators and speakers as they would in-person. More details about what you can expect from our Live-Online Programmes can be found here.

Themes discussed might include:

  • The shift from operational to strategic leadership
  • Preparing for greater responsibility and the next step in your leadership journey
  • Making high-stakes decisions: impact, trade-offs, and moral courage
  • Resilience, wellbeing, and work-life balance
  • Developing and supporting those you lead
  • Balancing performance with compassion: navigating divided loyalties and competing needs
  • Leading change amid uncertainty and complexity

Methodology

The programme is chaired by a senior leader who guides the group through plenary discussions and hosts guest speaker sessions. Speakers share candid reflections and practical insights drawn from leading at the highest level across a range of sectors.

Smaller breakout (‘syndicate’) groups are led by our experienced facilitators and allow participants to discuss individual leadership challenges at a personal level, as well as review topics and themes.

A varied mix of online formats keeps discussion focused and engaging, while regular screen breaks create space for reflection and re-energising.

Benefits of attending

Leaders leave the programme with greater self-awareness and increased clarity about how they want to lead. Participants typically report increased confidence in making tough decisions, stronger resilience, greater clarity of purpose, and the benefit of sharing insights with peers facing similar pressures.

Exceeding Expectations in a Virtual Environment

TRACY MCINTYRE | DEPUTY DIRECTOR, CIVIL SERVICE

Due to personal circumstances, I chose to do this programme online and wondered if it would be as beneficial as in-person. It was fantastic - one of the best leadership programmes I've been on. The organisers ran the online version very well, and I built strong connections with the cohort and my syndicate.
