Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence
Patron of Windsor Leadership
Sir Tim has had a long and distinguished career in the Royal Navy, including a series of navigation and warfare appointments and four warship commands. His final post was as Chief Executive of Defence Estates. He is currently Chairman of English Heritage, the Major Projects Association and two Urban Regeneration Companies, as well as Vice Chairman of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and Deputy Chair of the RNLI. Sir Tim is an alumnus and long-term supporter of Windsor Leadership, having participated in the 2006 Consultation for Newly Appointed Strategic Leaders and 2009 Strategic Leaders Consultation. Sir Tim became Patron of Windsor Leadership in November 2018.
Commenting on his role, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence said: “I am honoured and delighted to be following in the footsteps of my mentor The Right Reverend Michael Mann who believed that the only way to tackle the big issues facing society was through inspired leadership across the sectors. (Reverend Michael Mann together with The Duke of Edinburgh and Professor Charles Handy set up the original ‘Windsor Meetings’ in 1981). Windsor Leadership continues to inspire, challenge and support strategic leaders to reflect on their ability to transform themselves, their organisations and society for the better”.
