Victoria Humphries
Chief Executive Officer – Royal Photographic Society
Victoria Humphries is CEO of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) brought in with a remit to turn the charity around. Having been founded in 1853 and known as one of the world’s oldest photographic societies this is a challenging task but one that Victoria relishes! Prior to this role she was Managing Director of an EdTech business (Teachit, part of AQA Education). Victoria is Chair of Governors of a school in Gibraltar and on the Board of Trustees of a UK based group of schools.
In 1997 Victoria became part of the first all-female expedition to the North Pole. Along the way the team experienced temperatures of -40oC, constantly shifting ice and at one point she fell into the Arctic Ocean finding herself in a life-or-death situation. The expedition tested the team’s relationship, their ability to cope with a constantly changing environment and most of all, their resilience. As well as a polar adventurer Victoria is a 3 x Guinness World Record holder, marathon runner, author and keynote speaker.
Outside work Victoria is involved in her local church, running marathons, walking, skiing, gardening, spending time with the family and doing anything adventurous!
Victoria is an alumna of Windsor Leadership having participated on the Emerging Strategic Leaders programme in 2017 and the Developing Leaders programme in 2020.
