Peter Bradley Biography

The Revd Peter Bradley Dl, Anglican Priest

Peter was Dean of the Church of England Cathedral in Sheffield from 2003 to 2020. During this time, he entirely renewed and rebuilt the fabric of the historic building and increased the number of annual visitors from some 7,000 to some 250,000. For many years, the Cathedral has hosted social provision for people living on the streets - Sheffield is the only cathedral in the world with a dental surgery.

Peter has extensive experience in the voluntary and education sectors. He has led a major art show, working with international collectors and artists such as the Chapman Brothers; he has chaired a university art college, and founded innovative public interest company to provide an ethical alternative to high-interest lenders, and access to white goods, for people living in poverty.

More recently, Peter chaired a Sheffield City Board to develop cross-sector approaches to the reduction of poverty, such as the reduction of child hunger in South Yorkshire, and to support integration of excluded and stigmatised groups, such as Roma people and Irish Travellers, into the broader community. He has chaired a national grant making charity and advised South Yorkshire Police on ethics and inclusion. Peter is now a leadership coach, and the managing director of a company offering consultancy to charity boards and CEOs, particularly during conflict.
Peter is a keen amateur sculptor, and has made works in stainless steel, neon, ceramic, wood, and bronze. Peter is also currently training as a sommelier.

Peter is a triple alumnus of Windsor Leadership having participated on the Emerging Strategic Leaders, Leaders in Transition and Experienced Leaders programme.
