Marrit Dikker Hupkes-Gernaat Biography

Marrit is currently General Manager for the UK and Ireland Sales organisation of Spirax Sarco Steam’s solutions business. Leading an organisation of 150 people that sell and service the equipment that is associated with the steam condensation loop system which is integral to many customers’ manufacturing processes. 

Prior to this Marrit worked 18 years for Shell across many different roles in the value chain in businesses such as Retail, Marine, Aviation and Lubricants organisations. Her last role there was Low Carbon Fuels Integration & Portfolio Manager, where she is responsible for developing the annual supply-demand balances for low carbon products, managing shell’s investment portfolio of biofuels and biogas manufacturing projects, and implementing acquisitions and joint venture projects. 

Marrit is recognised throughout her career for her collaboration across business areas, identifying value opportunities to deliver, and for the clarity and energy she brings to motivate people to join her on the journey.

Marrit is a passionate advocate on creating an inclusive culture where everyone can bring their whole self to work. She has an active role in the UK Balance@Shell network as Strategy Lead and ambassador for Global Girls charity—a charity that delivers exchange and blended learning programs to support young leaders in developing countries. She openly shares that she is dyslectic to help combat stigmas associated with disabilities. 

Marrit is Dutch and has lived in the UK for 16 years. She is married to Jasper. They have a daughter,  2 sons, and 1 dogs + 2 rabbits. She enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and going for long walks in the countryside.
