David Ereira Biography

David is a founding partner of Commercial Real Estate Advisory firm Ereira Mendoza - established in 1990. He is currently Life President of Norwood. He was Chair of the Board of trustees from 2013 - 2018 before being honoured with the ambassadorial role of Life President. Norwood was established in 1795 and is one of London’s oldest children’s social care and learning disability charities. It has a workforce of around 2,000 and an annual budget of £34m, caring for around 4,000 people each year. Norwood also serves 65 local authorities nationally.

David founded Young Norwood in 1993 – the young lay volunteer branch of the charity and a fundraising arm of the organisation, bringing in young talent across its services and today boasts a membership in excess of 3000 volunteers. He has worked as a volunteer across SEND, social care, fostering, and adoption for 30 years and is an advocate for inclusion in all its forms.

David served as Vice President S&P Sephardi from 2018 – 2022. He has also been a member of the JLC’s PaJes and Wellbeing / Mental Health Taskforce groups and has served as a member of a Board of Deputies from 2005 – 2010. Past Governor of King Solomon High School, member of the Jewish Fostering and Adoption Panel. 

David is now a Chair of the Jewish Policy Research (JPR). JPR is the only independent institute in Britain that specialises in researching the state of contemporary Jewish communities in the UK and elsewhere in Europe.

David also holds other communal leadership roles focused around children, young people and special educational needs. David sits on the International Advisory Board of the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens. He is married to Joanne (an artist) and has 3 adult children. He is also an accomplished sculptor and cook and sees himself as a creative in all forms. An alum of Windsor Leadership’s Strategic Leaders Programme and a Freeman of the City of London, as well as being a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
