Bishop Libby Lane, Bishop of Derby

In 2015, Bishop Libby was the first women to be appointed a bishop in the Church of England when she became Suffragan Bishop of Stockport within the Diocese of Chester. In 2019 she became Bishop of Derby and entered the House of Lords. She has the Lords Spiritual profile for Sport and is the lead bishop for Young Offender Institutions for the Church of England.

Her interests are in mental health and well-being, and children and young people. She is Vice-Chair of Trustees on the Church of England’s Children’s Society. She enjoys the performing arts: music, drama and dance and loves to read and do cryptic crosswords. She also likes cooking and offering hospitality.
