Katie Hodgson Biography

Katie Hodgson

Katie Hodgson, Business Mentor & Coach, Creative Sensemaking Ltd

Katie’s style as a coach is to act as a supportive thinking partner who will help her client unlock their own potential; she also challenges her clients to recognise their own beliefs and assumptions, in order to provide opportunities for growth and change. Katie balances a focus on a strategic perspective and clear outcomes with a very practical and pragmatic bias towards action and delivery. Having coached hundreds of leaders, she has a tried and tested toolbox for facilitating both personal and team change.

Background: Katie has over 25 years of professional experience developing people and teams in a variety of commercial, operational and leadership roles across a wide range of countries and cultures. Having reached senior management in Shell, Katie has spent the last 11 years following her passion to help others achieve their potential. As a business mentor and coach, Katie provides support in all areas of personal and business performance and effectiveness.

Katie has a portfolio career covering a number of areas: she is an executive coach focused on strategic leadership development; she is also co-founder & director of Sensemaking, whose purpose is to help organisations do the right thing well.  Katie has previously been a trustee for Getting on Board, which is a charity that promotes board-level volunteering, and for Richmond Parish Lands Charity, which is a local grant making charity in Richmond upon Thames; she was also previously the Chair of the Richmond Area of Cruse Bereavement Care.

Outside work Katie enjoys dancing, crochet & reading science-fiction; she also enjoys travelling and sailing with her husband – preferably somewhere warm.

Katie is an alumnus of the Trust having attended the Experienced Strategic Leaders Programme in September 2008. She has also facilitated a number of times on the Developing Strategic Leaders Programme, on the Windsor Leadership Programme and on Women in Leadership Programme.
