Alan Coppin OBE: 30-mile charity walk
On Wednesday 11 May 2022, Alan Coppin OBE, completed a 30-mile charity walk to raise funds for Windsor Leadership. Alan, who is a Fellow of Windsor Leadership, has supported the work of Windsor Leadership for 20 years. The walk has raised over £12,200, which will enable a number of leaders from not-for-profit organisations to attend one of Windsor Leadership’s transformational programmes.
The walk began at 06:45 at Buckingham Palace, to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee year, and finished at Windsor Castle at 17:30.
Windsor Leadership’s Chief Executive, Jonathan Story, said: “We are humbled and delighted by Alan’s fundraising efforts. His perseverance in training for this walk and driving donations has been inspiring. We can utilise the funds raised to directly support talented leaders across charities, faith groups and not-for-profits, who can benefit from participating in our programmes. On behalf of the Team, Fellows and Trustees, we’d like to thank Alan for his continued selflessness, grit and determination!”
After completing the walk, Alan said: “I have supported Windsor Leadership for 20 years this year, as I truly believe in their transformational leadership programmes. The money that has been raised from my walk will directly support charity leaders, providing them with the opportunity to attend a Windsor Leadership programme at Windsor Castle.
One unusual aim was to get 71 individual donations, matching my age, and to date over 80 friends and contacts have kindly donated so I am delighted. The walk itself was quite tough for me, but knowing that £400 had been donated for each mile really motivated me, along with amazing support from my family, friends and the Windsor Leadership team!”
On behalf of the whole Windsor Leadership team, we would like to thank Alan for his outstanding fundraising efforts. If you would like to make a donation, please visit Just Giving.
